Mar 08 – Love That Lifts Us Up !

“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps” (Psalm 40:2).

The love the Lord has shown toward us brings us out of sin. It lifts us from the miry clay. It is a love that seeks us out.

When a sheep goes missing, the shepherd is greatly troubled in his heart. Day and night, in heat or rain, he searches with deep concern. If the sheep is caught among thorns, he will endure the piercing of his own hands to free it. Such is the love or a good shepherd.

Among all the expressions of the Lord’s love, one of the most precious is the love that lifts up our souls. The love of God rescues us from the grip of hell and from the powers of the enemy. Yes, He was willing to deliver us from the dominion of darkness.

Once, in a coal mine, an earthquake caused a terrible accident, with many workers trapped inside. Rescuers tried to pull them out with different ropes, but the ropes kept snapping. Finally, the supervisor brought a new rope. When they fastened it and pulled, the effort succeeded. Many were saved. Later they discovered why that rope had not broken—it had a steel cable woven through it.

In the same way, all other forms of human love may fade, weaken, or change. But the Lord’s love never fades, never weakens, never changes. It is strong and unbreakable.

Within the cord of Christ’s love flows His precious blood. The love of Calvary flows like a mighty stream. It draws souls toward the Lord. When He lifted us from the miry clay, He paid the price with His blood—let us never forget, and ever be grateful for that.

You have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and joined to heaven. The cord of Calvary’s love will never break. The God of love has bound you to Himself with cords of love. No one can snatch you from His hand.

Dear children of God, do not fear that old sins will overpower you, or that Satan will carry you away. The cord secured by the blood of Christ will never snap.

Verse for further meditation: “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20).
