Jun 28 – Those Who Had Been with Jesus!

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marvelled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)

The people saw the boldness with which Peter and John spoke. They noticed a power and authority in their words. As they listened, many were convicted in their hearts and cried out, “What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). Though Peter and John were ordinary, unlettered men, the people recognized that they had been with Jesus.

Being with Jesus is your true greatness. That is what makes you extraordinary. You may be poor or unlearned, but if you walk with Jesus, you are special. Just as the face of Moses shone because he was with the Lord, your life and ministry will shine when you spend time in God’s presence.

Sometimes we marvel at the power in the preaching of certain servants of God. We long to perform the same signs and wonders. But their secret lies not in their education or eloquence—it lies in their intimacy with Jesus. If you will spend more time with Him in prayer, meditation, and intercession, the Lord will use you powerfully. He will make you a flame of fire for His glory.

There’s an old saying: “Even the thread used to make garlands of flowers, takes on the fragrance”. “Even the weaving device in poet Kamban’s house will recite verses”. In the same way, a piece of iron that is attached to a magnet, will also obtain magnetic properties”. The moon, which revolves around the sun, shines at night only because it reflects the sun’s light.

So, the more time you spend with Jesus, the more you will be strengthened, empowered, and filled with His grace.

I know an elderly woman who constantly prayed. Because of her devotion, the Lord gave her the gift of prophetic vision. Though she was uneducated, she led many high officials, lawyers, and businesspeople to Christ. She would always be found sitting by a pillar, earnestly praying. She considered that pillar to be the very feet of Lord Jesus Christ.

Even when she felt too weak to pray aloud, she would simply sit there quietly, gazing at the face of Jesus in stillness. And the Lord, in turn, would fill her with His divine presence.

Dear child of God, those who walk with Jesus here on earth daily, will be caught up in the clouds to be with Him forever when the trumpet sounds.

Verse for further meditation: “Those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” (Revelation 17:14)
