Jul 08 – The Lord Who Leads!

“For Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.” (Psalm 31:3)

Man cannot truly guide himself. In childhood, we need teachers to guide us. In life, we seek advice from friends, mentors, scholars, or national leaders. But who can guide the soul?

I have seen people at the hour of death — their souls restless and confused, not knowing where to go or what to cling to. A person who dies in sin finds himself led astray by unclean spirits, drawn into darkness, destruction, and the fires of hell.

But when a child of God dies, angels descend, filled with joy, and escort their soul to the Kingdom of Heaven. What a glorious moment that is!

King David chose the Lord as his Guide — both in earthly life and in eternity. He prayed with deep longing: “For Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.” (Psalm 31:3)

Just as: a shepherd leading his sheep, a person with sight guiding the blind, the wise leading the foolish, the strong supporting the weak, so too we desire our great and eternal Lord to lead us daily.

And what’s even more beautiful, is our loving Lord is delighted to lead us. So every day, let us ask: “Lord, what would You have me do today? Which path should I walk in? How should I conduct myself with the people I meet today?”

The Bible promises: “The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” (Isaiah 58:11)

Today, many walk according to their own will, but the Bible warns: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12).

Dear child of God, surrender your will and your way to the Lord. When you entrust your path into His hands, He will lead you according to His higher purposes.

Verse for further meditation: “He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.” (Psalm 23:3–4)
