Jan 03 – The Blessing Of Salvation!
“While the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water” (1 Peter 3:20).
One of the greatest blessings the Lord gave Noah was the salvation of his entire family. The Tamil Bible says, “only eight people were preserved,” but many translations say, “only eight souls were saved.” The ark Noah built brought both protection and salvation to him and his household.
Scripture says, “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith” (Hebrews 11:7).
Noah was doing two works at once: He preached the message of God, and he built the ark.
He also carried a deep burden and responsibility for his family. Children of God, you too need a sincere burden, care, and concern for your household. Scripture says, “The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous” (Psalm 118:15).
God desires every person to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. On the cross of Calvary, Jesus has already accomplished salvation. He has given us life by becoming our Savior. He shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Our responsibility is this: Our families must lovingly receive this salvation and be saved. Joshua declared, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
Even if one person in a family believes, the Lord has promised to bring salvation to the whole household. Before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Lord brought out Lot’s entire family. He even extended His grace to Lot’s future sons-in-law — offering them a chance to experience salvation. But they rejected that grace.
Rahab the prostitute placed her trust in the Lord and sheltered God’s people. Because she tied the scarlet cord in her house, she and all in her household were saved.
This is why the Scripture gives us the unchanging promise: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31).
Dear children of God, may you be found together as a family in the Kingdom of God!
Verse for further meditation: “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call” (Acts 2:39).
