Feb 02 – Rejoice In The Lord !
“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory”“ (Revelation 19:7)
This verse highlights three beautiful actions: being glad, rejoicing, and praising. How wonderful it is! In heaven, we will always rejoice, continually offer praises to God, and find eternal gladness in Him. Let us begin this life of praise here on earth, for we have countless reasons to glorify Him.
Our first experience of true gladness comes when we repent of our sins. The joy of salvation fills our hearts when our sins are forgiven, and the Lord Jesus enters our lives. This joy is not limited to us—it spreads to others as well. The Bible says: “There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7, 10).
Salvation brings a multitude of reasons to rejoice: Our names are written in the Book of Life in heaven. We receive the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to call God, “Abba, Father.”
We are welcomed into the loving family of Christ and gain the right to share in His inheritance. As Isaiah says: “Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3).
The second reason to rejoice, be glad, and give thanks is the joy of the Holy Spirit, which the Lord pours into our lives. The Bible declares: “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
How marvellous is the joy of the Holy Spirit! The love of God is poured into our hearts through Him. Along with this, we receive the precious fruits of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22–23. These include love, joy, peace, and more…
There are countless reasons to praise God and rejoice: We find great joy in serving the Lord. Consider how the Apostle Paul expressed it: “But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ” (Romans 15:29).
It is a delight to share the love of the One who bore the cross for us. It is pure joy to speak of the grace of God, who has loved us and anointed us as kings and priests. Our hearts are filled with gladness when we meditate on the Word of God. “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart” (Psalm 19:8).
Children of God, let us live in gladness, rejoice in His presence, and continually offer Him praise. For truly, He has given us unending reasons to celebrate His love and faithfulness.
Verse for further meditation: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!”(Philippians 4:4)
