JUNE 21 – MAN OF UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE!

“Because of the transgression of a land, many are its princes; but by a man of understanding and knowledge right will be prolonged” (Proverbs 28:2).

The life of those who read the book of Proverbs with interest will be prosperous. This literature of wisdom stays very useful for one to lead a holy and victorious life. It is also very much helpful to one’s ministry.

Every young man and woman, before entering into wedlock and family life in this world, should go deep into this literature of wisdom and derive the precious pearls-like divine counselling with desire.

Alexander Mclean, a famous preacher, said, “The book of Proverbs is great medicine and antidote that you should always have with you”. It clears all the sickness related to youth stage and brings in health.” How true these words are!

Many young men and women have come into the belief in Christ after going through the book of Proverbs. Many have begun to read this book with the intention to gain worldly knowledge but they have been attracted and pulled by the wisdom of God. What is their witness? “We started to read the book to gain knowledge of the world. But, the wisdom in this book guides us towards God who gave this book. By reading the alphabets, we came to know the creator of these alphabets.

The book of Proverbs is a portion of the Scripture that has appropriate words to proclaim the Gospel.  One can gain knowledge of Christ by reading this book. It is these words of wisdom that stand as perfect pillars for your life.

Encourage the children and youth in your family to read this book of Proverbs. Then they will begin to be filled with divine knowledge at an early stage itself. To whatever extent they read and meditate on this book, in proportion, the divine words will stay deeply rooted in their hearts. They will be wise in their words and deeds.

Whosoever disrespect the Godly wisdom will unknowingly stain their lives. The words of God are not only spirit and life but also weapons of wisdom which turns the simple into wise. It remains as the strength of the soul. It guides you wonderfully.

To meditate: “With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding” (Job 12:13).
