Mar 26 – HE JUSTIFIES !
“Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified” (Romans 8:30).
The Lord justifies those He has predestined. He has borne all their unrighteousness upon Himself and clothes them with the garment of righteousness. For their sakes, He became sin, who knew no sin.
Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Apostle Paul says: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Since the Lord Himself has justified you, no one can really accuse you or point a finger at you.
Apostle Paul asks: “And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?” (1 Peter 3:13). Even if others speak ill of you and have hurt you, do not be troubled. Do not ponder over those hurts and become weary in your heart. And do not lose your courage because of the hurtful words of others.
When you feel bruised and hurt, look unto Jesus who was bruised for our sakes. And whenever you suffer in pain, look unto Jesus, who comes along as the Good Samaritan, to bind your wounds. With loving kindness, He comes near you and bind your wounds and hurts with wine, which is His blood, and with oil, which is the Holy Spirit. And He will comfort you.
When others rise up against you, just look unto the path that our Lord Jesus had to cross. Think of all the false and presumptuous accusations of the Pharisees against Him. They even called Him the master of the house Beelzebub, and one possessed by demonic spirits. The people also chose Barabbas over Jesus to be released by Pilate. They cried and demanded Jesus to be crucified on the Cross. They mocked at Him, they struck Him with their hands and they scourged Him. But Jesus endured all of that meekly. That same Jesus is with you, whenever you are falsely accused or hurt.
The Scripture says: “Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake” (Isaiah 54:15). Therefore, do not be troubled. All those who have assembled to act and scheme against you will come in your favour.
Verse for further meditation: “Instead of your shame you shall have double honour, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs” (Isaiah 61:7).
