Mar 14 – HE WILL KEEP YOU !

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling…” (Jude 1:24).

The book of Judah is the sixty-fifth book in the Bible, out of the total of sixty-six books. It is written as a general epistle and has only one chapter.

Although it has only one chapter, toward the end of that chapter – Apostle Jude points to the Lord as the One who is able to keep you from stumbling. The Lord is the One who can keep you from stumbling in your spiritual life.

Near Valparai, there is a tea estate called ‘High Forest Estate’. Very close to that estate, there is a rock called ‘Number Rock’, which is steep and very high above the ground level. When someone stands on top of that rock, the entire surrounding will look like it is at a depth of thousands of feet. And if someone were to fall from that height, the whole body will go into pieces, on hitting the surrounding rocks, and not even one bone will remain intact.

Even as you approach the top of that rock, you will feel as though the evil spirits in that area make you out-of-balance and slippery, and pull you into the depths. But falling into sin and going into hades, is even more devastating than falling from the top of such a rock. How tragic will that be? Sin will also lead to eternal suffering.

In the epistle of Jude, he writes about the history of Jews, who failed to preserve their initial love for the Lord, and had fallen because of their pride. Those who were living like angels of God, fell down from their stature and turned into demons, and were pushed into the sea of eternal fire.

Contempt, pride, lusts, spirit of adultery, temptations of sin, desires and lusts of the world makes a man slip away from the right path. But God, is alive and able even today to keep you from stumbling.

The mighty hand of God, is strong to prevent you from falling and keep you steadfast. Whenever your feet are slipping, you should never forget that the grace of Lord is able to keep you and hold you. Children of God, be vigilant to ensure that the grace of God does not depart from you. Make sure that there is no slackness in your prayer life. And the Lord will surely keep you from falling.

Verse for further meditation: for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
