Mar 02 – HE WILL GIVE !
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory” (Psalm 84:11).
The Lord is full of grace and He has the power to grant that grace to you as well. That grace will surround you and bring you into the glory of God. That grace also acts as a shield for you to protect you from all evil.
I used to meditate more on the term ‘Grace’. In many pictorial depictions, I have noticed the blue halo above the heads of saints. I used to imagine that grace is represented by such a blue halo and it will grow bigger and bigger as you praise God more and more. I also used to think that when the grace of God departs, that ring of protection will disappear from that person, who can then be easily defeated by his enemies. Therefore, I strongly believed on the importance of living within the grace of God & to be protected by the grace of God.
But when I kept reading and meditating on the word of God, I understood that Grace is a gift from God, given out of His loving kindness, benevolence and generosity. Out of His compassion and pity, He has granted you grace.
You can never obtain grace through your smartness or intelligence. It is a gift from God, gift from the Holy Spirit. Nor can you obtain eternal life through your own efforts. It is a gift of the Lord out of His Calvary love.
It is sheer grace that you are able to stand and are not consumed. It is purely by grace that we have been protected thus far and are in the land of the living.
Apostle Paul humbles himself and says: “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Children of God, never boast in your efforts or in your talents. Never be proud of your community, family heritage or about your education. Humble yourselves and cover yourselves within the grace of God. Then the Lord will grant you more grace and exalt you.
Verse for further meditation: “ What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD” (Psalm 116:12-13)
