Jan 08 – New Tongue!

“And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:7)

Our God is the One who makes everything new. He makes your mouth, tongue and your lips new. When He makes it new, You can do His ministry and pronounce His glory, and praise and worship Him with songs.

The Lord determined to do new things in the life of Isaiah – to elevate him as a mighty and glorious prophet. But the lips of Isaiah were filled with uncleanness. Therefore, there was a requirement to touch his mouth and lips before he could be elevated as a major prophet. The Lord touched him with the tongs from the altar, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”

If the Lord has to use a man, his mouth, tongue and lips should be renewed. It is God’s will to renew your tongue and make you sing a new song for Him. The Scripture tells us: “Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints” (Psalm 149:1).

What was the experience of King David? “He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth – Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:2-3). Please note the specific term ‘New Song’, used in this scripture portion.

“May be your tongue would have sung movie songs, or songs just for fun and frolic. But hereafter you will sing new songs. You will sing spiritual songs, and praise Him in tongues and rejoice. The Lord is giving you a new tongue for that purpose. Yes, Praise which is the fruit of the lips will come out of your mouth. You will glorify God both in the earthly life and for eternity.

Apostle Paul writes thus in His epistle to the Ephesians: “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Ephesians 5:19-20).

Children of God, these last days are the days of singing new songs with a new tongue. When we meet the Lord in the air, we should indeed meet Him with a new song, new praise and new gladness in our hearts.

Verse for further meditation: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. (Psalm 100:4)
