Jan 04 – New Means of Access!
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh” (Hebrews 10:19-20)
God has a new means of access for you that leads to eternal life. When you enter into the most holy place through that new access, you will able to see the glory of God, with your eyes and grow in His glory.
In order to grant this new means of access, the Lord tore open His body, which is the veil. At the same time when His body was offered up on the Cross, the veil of the temple was also torn from top to bottom. By this, the divider between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, was removed. The Lord has done this, so that you may receive the glory of God from the most holy place, and for you to experience His glorious presence.
Once a relative of Sadhu Sundar Singh asked him, “what is so special or unique about Christianity that was not there in our religion? If only you can tell that, I can show that the same philosophy is there in our religion too.” Sadhu Sundar Singh responded with all meekness, saying, “There is no other religion or path that has the matchless love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His flesh was torn as a veil and He has opened a new and glorious means of access to God. Is there something similar in your faith?”. The other person could not really respond to that.
In the early days of Apostle Paul, before he was converted, he was zealous about his religion. And based on his zeal for his religious doctrines, the goal of his life was to attack Christians and destroy churches.
But as he came near Damascus, the glorious light of God shone on him. Then he fell to the ground and asked, “Who are You, Lord?” That one encounter with the Lord completely changed the outlook and life of Paul, and he became a new person. The same hands which were earlier intent on destroying churches, now became the hands for growing churches. The Lord used him mightily to write various epistles to different churches.
Children of God, with gladness in your heart march forward in the new means of access that the Lord has created by breaking open His body, that is the veil.
Verse for further meditation: “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 9:17)
