Dec 14 – INTIMACY WITH GOD !

“So, the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.” (Exodus 20:21)

All those who love the Lord abundantly and without measure, they are able to get close to Him. The Lord has kept open the entrance of grace, In order for you to go boldly to the throne of grace.

There are two aspects in the life of every person. One is the outwardly life or evident part of life. And the other is the inward life, which in unseen. In a sense these may be compared to the situation that prevails at the base of a mountain as against the mountain-top situation. At the base of the mountain, you may have wild beasts roaming around, and there may be much noise caused by the animals and birds.

But at the top of the mountain, glorious clouds will be drifting and descending, in the gentle rays of the sun. There will be perfect peace and perfect glory. While there may be considerable tumult, turmoil and trials in your outwardly life, let your heart and mind linger and have intimate relationship with the Sun of Righteousness, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every day, early in the morning, you should run toward the mountain-top experience of lingering with the Lord, and enjoy the closeness of His tenderness and glory. Once you have such intimacy with the Lord, then you will be not afraid of any of the struggles and conflicts in your outer world.

Moses had the experience of speaking with God face to face. The Lord said: And Moses alone shall come near the Lord, but they shall not come near; nor shall the people go up with him.” It was because without holiness, no one can see the Lord.

“And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel” (Exodus 25:22). “And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses” (Exodus 33:9).

Dear children of God, there is no partiality with our God. The Lord who spoke with Moses, will also speak with you. When you cleanse yourselves, and have a longing in your heart to listen to the word of God, He will surely relate with you intimately.

Verse for further meditation: “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:8)
