Dec 08 – WORD OF GOD !
“But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones…” (Jeremiah 20:9)
How wonderful is the prophetic experience of Jeremiah! The moment he read the words of God, he meditated on them in his heart. And His words were burning like a fire in his bones. Imagine how much he should have loved and meditated on the word of God!
There are many who seek the word of God, only when they go through the path of trials or when they go through the satanic attacks. This is not a good situation to be in. If you surrender your life to be completely ruled by the word of God, then your life will be full of blessing. The words of God bring clarity to your mind, whenever there is a confusion. They also give you the courage and faith to stand against Satan.
Prophet Jeremiah, did not read the word of God, as a mere duty. He imbibed it in his heart, pondered and meditated on it, all through the day. It was only because he grasped them completely, that it was burning like a fire in his bones. Yes, you should keep on meditating on the word of God, till such time it burns like a fire within you. Only then will you be fully under its complete dominion, be led by His word and progress victoriously in your prayer life.
When the words of God penetrate deep into your heart, and abide in you, then all the utterances of your mouth, will be in accordance with Scriptural verses. And all your prayers will stake a strong claim on the promises of God. Your ministry will be filled with God’s presence. The Scripture tells us that the word of God gives spirit and life.
The Lord spoke to Jeremiah, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). Jeremiah had surely imbibed them and meditated on these words. That is why, he was used by God as a mighty prophet.
Dear children of God, take firm hold of all the promises that God has given you. And meditate on them, until such time they penetrate your inner being, and burn like a fire. When you do that, you will indeed be blessed by the Lord and rise up for Him and do mighty acts for Him.
Verse for further meditation: “Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.” (Jeremiah 5:14)
