Nov 19 – SEEK HIS FACE !
When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek” (Psalm 27:8).
While you pray, you are looking at the face of the Lord. When you remain in His presence, your life shines brightly to the extent, you seek His face in prayer.
Moses spent forty days and forty nights in the presence of God, seeking His face, on Mount Sinai. The face of Moses was shining when he came down from the Mount, from the presence of God. The Israelites could not see him face to face, as his face was shining so brightly. Also, in the case of Stephen, even those who stoned him to death, could see that his face was shining like that of an angel. It was because of the prayer life of Stephen.
Anyone who fails to pray, loses out on the light and the glory of the Lord. Because of his lack of prayer, he rejects the divine power of healing. It is like rejecting and blocking the spring of heavenly blessings by his own actions.
There is an old story about Abraham. When he saw a poor man standing at his door, he welcomed him into the house with compassion, and set a meal before him to satisfy his hunger. However, he was upset to see the man starting to eat, without giving thanks to God. He rebuked him for being so thankless and sent him away.
That day, God appeared to Abraham in a vision and told him: “I have fed and clothed the poor man for seventy long years. Even though he never thanked me, I still continued to feed and nurture him. But you are not able to bear with his lack of thanksgiving just for one instance. I, the Lord, who makes the sun shine and pour out rain on the good and the bad, continue to be patient with him”.
Dear children of God, our God is the One who grants good gifts to all. And you should remember that to those who pray to Him, He is able to grant them much more abundantly.
Verse for further meditation: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
