Nov 01 – NEVER FORGOTTEN !
“Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me! (Isaiah 44:21)
“You are Mine. I have called you by your name. And I have chosen you from your mother’s womb. O Israel, you will never be forgotten by Me”, says the Lord.
We live in a thankless world which forgets all the benefits. Those who benefitted form you may become ungrateful and may even turn hostile towards you. Those whom you love, may forget all the affection and may even curse you. Even those who used you and took advantage of you to come up in life, may consider you worthless.
Even when all your beneficiaries and friends forget and forsake you, God will never forget you. The Lord says, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely, they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. (Isaiah 49:15,16)
There are essentially two reasons why God does not forget us. First and foremost, it is because God created us in His form and image and made us, He has chosen us to be His own people. We belong to Him and He is our God.
Moses said to the Israelites: “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. (Deuteronomy 7:6)
Secondly, God will never forget you because He has purchased you by His precious blood. It is because of His great love for you, that He came down from heaven to earth, in the form of a humble bondservant. He bore the heavy Cross on His shoulders, walking precariously through the streets of Jerusalem. He was wounded for our transgressions and He was bruised for our iniquities. When such is His great love, how can He ever forget you?
We read in the Bible, about how God remembered Ephraim, in the following verse. “How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred. (Hosea 11:8)
Dear children of God, He will never forget us. And He will send us all the good things that we need in His time. The Lord will perfect everything in His time. And He will bless you much more abundantly than you can ever imagine or pray.
Verse for further meditation: “Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” (Isaiah 43:7)
