Oct 26 – HE WILL BEAR, CARRY AND DELIVER!
“I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:4).
God bears you like a mother. He carries you like a father. Like a brother, He remains with you and delivers you. That is why He promises, ‘Thus far I have carried you and I will bear, carry and deliver you.’
It is God who made you and formed you in your mother’s womb (Isaiah 44:2). God says, “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been upheld by me from birth, who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, and even to grey hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:3, 4).
I would like to describe a picture drawn by an artist here. A mud path in the picture symbolized the life of a saint. All the incidences that happened in that saint’s life from the beginning to that day had been chronologically marked in that picture. Along the entire path, the footprints of two persons were seen to show that the saint and God had walked together in the saint’s life.
The saint who was looking at that picture was surprised to see that the footprints of only one person was seen there while crossing a dangerous situation in his life. With tears, he said, “Oh God, you did not walk with me when I was crossing a dangerous situation. You have let me down at that point.” God replied, “Dear son, since I carried you on my shoulders during the times of danger, you cannot find your footprints there. What you see there are my footprints and you were sitting safely on my shoulders.”
There are instances wherein God guides you. There are a few more instances wherein God bears, carries and delivers you. When God led the children of Israel in the wilderness, He carried them for forty years just like an eagle carrying its young ones on its wings. Even today, He remains as one to carry you for giving you the blessings of the Most High.
What did the shepherd do when he found the lost sheep? He did not allow it to walk so that it does not lose its way again. Further, he carried it on his shoulders to show his love towards it. When he carried it that way, his mouth will be closer to the ear of the sheep. The eyes of the shepherd will have a deep look over the sheep. A deep relationship between the shepherd and the sheep will be established. Dear children of God, be aware that God remains as one to carry you and praise Him for that.
To meditate: “As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:13).
