Oct 24 – IF THE LORD IS WITH US!

“….if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” (Judges 6:13).
The word ‘If’ appears in several instances in the Scripture. It indicates an element of doubt in some instances, caution in some and encouragement elsewhere.
We read in the Scripture: ‘If God is for us…(Romans 8:31). If the Lord delights in us…. (Numbers 14:8). If the Lord is with us….’ (Judges 6:13). Paul the Apostle begins to think after writing ‘If God is for us’ and what a wonderful blessing this is!
If God is with us, who can be our enemy? King David, who thought, ‘If the Lord is with us’ continues to say, “I will not be afraid of ten thousand of people who have set themselves against me all around” (Psalms 3:6).
Habakkuk also thought about ‘If the Lord is with us’ and says, “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labour of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord” (Habakkuk 3:17, 18). Gideon also thought the same way and said, “…if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” (Judges 6:13).
God says, “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you” (Genesis 28:15). God also said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14).
“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord, your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt” (Deut. 20:1). “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:2).
Dear children of God, God is always with you. Wherever you go, He follows you. Never forget that. Praise God with belief over all His promises, wherein He told that He would be with you.
To meditate: “….teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Mathew 28:20).
