Oct 19 – ONE ACCORD AND REVIVAL!
“…they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1).
The days of the early Apostles were the days in which there was a great revival, days in which the anointment of the Holy Spirit was poured, days in which the harvest of souls was carried out vigorously. The reason is that there was a great oneness among them. The Scripture says that three thousand souls were saved when Peter preached (Acts 2:41).
Do you know the secret behind that big harvest? The Scripture says, “But Peter, standing up with the eleven….” (Acts 2:14). Yes. The secret is that eleven parsons were standing with him. Peter was one person to deliver the sermon but eleven persons were standing ready by his side to uphold him in prayers with oneness. This is what helped in attaining a victorious gaining of souls.
Why is the revival not in our midst today? Why is the harvest of souls not up to our expectations? Why do we face failures in battle fields? Why is God unable to act unitedly with the servants of God? The reason is nothing but lack of love, brotherly fellowship and the spirit of oneness. The shortfall in love and peace prevent the revival from happening. May you look up to your Lord God. Think of the oneness prevailing among the angels in heaven.
At the time of creating the man itself, God united with him. He created man saying, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness”. The sense of oneness came in heaven at that moment itself. While praying to the Lord, Jesus says, “…as we are one” (John 17:22). Yes. All in heaven are together and with oneness. To bless you, the Lord’s Prayer says, “Your kingdom comes. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Mathews 6:10).
Several instruments are made use of in music programmes. But, the concert conductor combines the music and brings harmony in the musical notes played from various instruments and composes the melodious songs. The blended music attracts our hearts; makes us happy. In the same way, though there are several organs in the body and though each organ has differing responsibilities, they all must get united with the body and function.
Dear children of God, you can do great things for God, only if you maintain oneness with God and His children. Protect oneness always. Never give place for differences. Always stay firm in oneness.
To meditate: “…fulfil my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind” (Philippians 2:2).
