Sep 26 – LORD WHO ADDS!

“And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47).

Our God is one who adds. Many people wrongly think that He is the one to break and scatter. God loves His people and collects them together. Is “One who comes to me I will by no means cast out” not His word?

At many times, you may look as though you are let down. You may even think whether God has forgotten you and whether God has ignored you. For a mere moment, He may forsake but with great mercies, He will gather you. Despite being unknown to you, He came in search of you with love. He embraced you so that you become His heir.

I know a woman. She was sent out of the husband’s home for committing adultery. With reproach and shame, she reached a situation wherein it looked as though she had lost everything. One day, she happened to listen to Gospel. The love of Jesus Christ who never hates or discards anyone but keeps adding everyone, touched her heart. She dedicated her entire life to Jesus Christ. Then she wrote a letter with prayers to her husband seeking his pardon. What a surprise! God united the family. God is one to add.

The Scripture says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded” (James 4:8). “…he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). “The Lord…gathers together the outcasts of Israel” (Psalms 147:2).

There are so many people in the world who have been set aside. People set aside by children, people set aside by relatives and people set aside by society are a few to mention. God is eager to include them all.

That day, the Israelites were thrown out of their country. But, God has included and continue to include them. They are presently standing firm in their country. Dear children of God, you being the Spiritual Israelite, God is also eager to add you.

To meditate: “…..he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad” (John 11:51, 52).
