Sep 21 – WILL MAKE STRAIGHT!
“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight” (Isaiah 45:2).
Here, God graciously promises a double-fold blessing. Firstly He promises to go before you and secondly to make the crooked places straight. Many things may remain crooked in your life. The relationships, paths and minds may also remain crooked. They need to be made straight. How do they become crooked? When someone spreads slanderous accusations about you in the minds of others and spread rumours about you, their minds thus far straight become irritated and crooked.
Those who falsely accuse and those who are jealous always look with a crooked motive. Many a time, you are unable to remove the bitter seeds sown in the minds of others. It becomes impossible to make the crooked things straight with your self-efforts. Today, God promises you, “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight.”
Our God is one who removes the hurdles. The Scripture says, “The one who breaks open will come up before them; they will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it; their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head” (Micah 2:13).
When God goes before you, all the crooked things will become straight. The problems of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law will do occur in the families. The bitterness will be on the rise. Even under such situations, if you sit at the feet of God and pray saying, “Lord, look at these problems. Justice is perverted in my case. You are my universal judge. You are the only one to advocate for me, go before me and straighten up all that is crooked” God will surely command peace for you.
It is in that way, Jacob prayed. On the night before meeting Esau, he prayed for the whole night, holding the feet of God. What a surprise! The next day, when he met his brother, he welcomed him cordially.
All the rivalries of the past disappeared in a second. A new peace, a new brotherly love and a new friendly relationship came into being. Yes. It is God who did it. Dear children of God, He will also help you in the same way.
To meditate: “I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them” (Isaiah 42:16).
