Sep 20 – SHALL PROSPER!

“Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field” (Isaiah 32:15).

“The wilderness becomes a fruitful field” is the promise that God gives you today. He is one to turn a desert into a garden. He is one to create everything from nothing. He is one to turn the wilderness into fertile farming land.

You might have come through paths of dryness in the past. Your income being insufficient, the debt problems might have dashed against you again and again. But this sadness and hardship are not going to prevail forever. When the Holy Spirit descends upon you from the High, He will make your Spiritual life fertile. When He opens the windows of heaven, you will receive the blessings of the present immeasurably.

In his early days after Salvation, my father suffered a lot being unable to meet the needs with his meagre income. For this, he arranged a fasting prayer at home and fervently prayed, “Lord, the wilderness should be turned into fertile farming land.” A man of God who had come to conduct that fasting prayer blessed my father and said, “From today, God will command prosperous days for you.” My father also accepted what he said with faith. From then on, God gave days of prosperity for my father. Not only that. Another good thing to happen for him is that the gifts of Spirit began to function in his Spiritual life.

Isaiah says, “The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the excellency of our God” (Isaiah 35:1, 2).

Blessings of prosperity are there for you. Solomon the wise points out three types of people and says that they will prosper. They are, “…he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered” (Proverbs 28:25), “…the tent of the upright will flourish” (Proverbs 14:11) and “The generous soul will be made rich” (Proverbs 11:25).

Generally, plants will flourish only where it rains. But, God promises that He will command prosperity in the wilderness. Dear children of God, irrespective of where you have been planted, God will make you prosper.

To meditate: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God” (Psalms 92:12, 13).
