Sep 19 – ONE WHO MAKES IT PERFECT!
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me” (Psalms 138:8).
After placing all his burdens and worries on God, King David says with peace, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” What a wonderful confession of faith this is! God will surely support you when you place your burdens upon Him. The Scripture says, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (I Peter 5:7).
The term ‘will perfect’ has been used to mean ‘The work begun by God is perfectly finished by Him’ in the source language. You can find many jobs commenced by men being left unfinished. At times, the entire plan gets changed. But our God is not one to stop work in the midway. God is not a man that He should lie. Job says, “I know that you can do everything and that no purpose of yours can be withheld from you” (Job 42:2).
God finished doing everything in creation. On the first five days even before creating man, God created all things that man may need in future. He created the sun and the moon to give light, plants and trees to give fruits. He created the birds, livestock, the fishes and finally the man in His image. Is it not a great blessing to man?
He finished doing everything not only in the creation but also on the Cross. He created the remission of sins by shedding His blood. He accepted the stripes and thereby gave the power of healing. He broke the backbone of the curse by wearing the crown of thorns which was a curse, on His head. He crushed the head of the enemy and gave us victory. Since He finished everything, He was able to shout, “It is finished” victoriously and surrender His life in the hands of the Father.
Further, He has gone to heaven to create a dwelling for us in eternity. If the world created by God in just six days is so beautiful, how great would the heavenly dwelling be for which He is preparing for two thousand years! Dear children of God, He is one to finish everything for you also in eternity.
To meditate: “I thank my God…. being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:1, 6).
