Sep 06 – LET THE PEACE OF GOD RULE!
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).
Which are things that rule our hearts? Is it the peace of God as told by Paul the Apostle or the confusions, anger, zeal and the separations brought by satan? Let the peace of God rule your heart.
When God sits as a ruler amid your heart, the Holy Spirit will also be inside you. The fruits of the Spirit will also be around Him. But, when satan rules over you, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will be sadly standing out. Satan will be seated on the throne in the middle of your heart with the serpents, frogs and pigs around him.
The deeds of a nation depend on under whose rule it is. If communism rules a country, its policies alone will be on focus there. In the same way, any party which comes to power will try to implement its policies. Think about this. If Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace rules your heart, your deeds will reflect God. Your heart will be filled perfectly with the peace of God.
Many people do not care about who rules them. It is because of this some nations become barbaric. Further, the situation that “The world belongs to the strong” arises in many countries.
Paul the Apostle uses the Greek word ‘Barbeuto’ to mean governance. This is a word used in the playgrounds and it means the ‘umpire.’ If the peace of God remains as an umpire in your life, your life will be perfect and in order. Remove the unwanted things and bring the good ones into your life.
The money and wealth of a man will be of no use if the divine peace is not ruling him. Jesus Christ has to rule over you if your heart is to be filled with peace.
Dear children of God, come out of the dominance of darkness and enter into that of peace. Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
To meditate: “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21).
