AUG 19 – A BELIEVER WHO PLEASES!
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
In this world, how to please God should be your prime aim. When you do things to please Him, He will rejoice in you and further, He will remain as a lover of the soul to you eternally. How to please Him?
Firstly, the faith you have placed in God is the factor that determines to what extent He loves you. The Scripture says that it is impossible to please Him without faith. Yes. You have to believe Him. You have to place one hundred per cent faith in Him alone. Say, “God, I believe you alone” and repeat it one thousand times. Accordingly, implement that faith.
What is it you have to do to make your life possess faith? The Scripture says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). To make your life have faith in it, the Word of God is essential for you. The Scripture, which is the spirit and life plays a big role in bringing the love of God towards you. When you place your faith in Him and rely upon Him, He will be pleased with you.
What is the secret behind God placing His love on Abraham? It was Abraham’s faith upon God. The Scripture says, “He …was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform” (Romans 4:21). That faith consists of three portions.
Firstly, he did not mind the deadness of his body and Sarah’s womb. Secondly, he gave importance only to what God had told him. Thirdly, he went on glorifying God and thereby got strengthened in faith. Thus, he remained as one pleasing to God.
Follow Abraham and do not mind your physical weakness. Do not think about other failures and shortfalls. At the same time, keep in remembrance all the promises of God and all the miracles that He had performed. Then, glorify God saying, “Thank you God, as you are going to do all these things in my life.” Then, you also will turn as good as Abraham in faith and will please God.
Believe fully in God. That is the only way for one to remain pleasing to God.
To meditate: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
