AUG 14 – DELIGHT IN THE LORD!
“How fair and how pleasant you are, o love, with your delights!” (Song of Solomon 7:6).
Jesus Christ stays as your lover of soul. He also remains as your loving bridegroom of your soul. He has chosen you as His bride with His own blood.
You remain as the organs of His body and His flesh and bones belong to you. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church” (Ephesians 5:30, 32) says Paul the Apostle.
God not only shows love towards you but also calls you with love as “how pleasant you are o love.” By going through the book of ‘Song of Solomon’, one can find how much He ecstasies you by calling with many words of affection. He calls with love saying, “My love, my fair lady, my dove, my perfect one, my bride and my princess.” What greatness has God found in the bride to call this way? Delighting Him is the reason for it.
You should always be the ones to delight Him. You must make Christ happy. You have to move in a way which is pleasing to Him. The Scripture says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psalms 37:4).
A brother had placed immeasurable love upon his mother. Since she was in a faraway place he used to visit her often. He will buy everything for his mother and send her money also every month. Once, one of his friends asked him the reason for him to love his mother so greatly?
The brother replied, “I have saddened my mother too much during my youth stage. I have made her shed tears often. I have even beaten her. So many times, she has cried beating her head. Despite all my misbehaviour, she loved me and prayed for me. Because of her efforts, I have been saved and anointed by God and God has made me His servant now. So, I recall those sad days of my mother in atonement and to make amends.”
Dear children of God, how essential it is for you to make God happy! How long He has wandered searching for you with all sadness! He came in search of you even when you ignored and despised Him. How important it is to make Him happy! Dear children of God, you should always be delighted in God.
To meditate: “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).
