AUG 03 – HOLINESS THROUGH THE SCRIPTURE!

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Divine Spirit has graciously given you the Scripture. Do you know why? “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

The Scripture of God condemns the sinner and reforms him. It teaches righteousness. Above everything, it makes him holy. There is a deep connection between becoming holy and the Scripture. Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).

God has given several promises in the Scripture for one to become holy. When you inherit those promises, holy life will get created within you. So, accept those promises with faith. The Scripture says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace” (Romans 6:14). “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). “For by one offering, He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14).

When you face the tests of sin, take the Scripture in your hands. Proclaim the verses. Say that sin cannot overcome you. Say, ‘I am in the hands of God who makes me holy and so, nobody could snatch me from his arms.’ Satan will run away from you.

The Scripture says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). It is the Scripture of God that shows the way to holiness. The Scripture says, “For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life” (Proverbs 6:23). David says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105).

Dear children of God, wake up early in the morning and read the Scripture. Let those Scripture verses speak with you. Let them lead you in your life. Evaluate yourself whether you are following the Scripture portion read on that day, abiding by it, dedicating yourself to the same and then lead your life on the path prescribed by the Scripture.

To meditate: “And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalms 139:24).
