JULY 31 – A TIME TO GET REWARDED!
“And that you should reward your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear your name, small and great” (Revelations 11:18).
There is a time of judgment for the sinners and the workers of iniquity. Similarly, there is a time in which God rewards the righteous and saints. Jesus said, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me, to give to everyone according to his work” (Revelations 22:12).
When a father returns home, the children will be eagerly expecting him to bring something to eat. In the same way, when the mother comes back from the vegetable shop, the children eagerly ask what she has bought for them. The children who study day and night will be very eager to know their marks scored in the final examinations. When they pass the exams, they experience immeasurable joy. How blessed it would be if their marks suggest that they have secured first class.
There is a time for the exam and similarly, there is a time to know the results of the same. There is a time to work hard for God and there is surely a time to receive the due benefits from the hands of God. God has several gifts to be given to His children during His Coming. To all those whose names find a place in the ‘book of the living’, He brings gifts like Crown of life and Crown of glory.
When you enter eternity, God will show you the dwelling which, He has prepared for you and say. “My son, my daughter, I have prepared a dwelling for you. Look at this palace of glory that I have created for you so that you also may dwell together with me.” Oh! How joyful that time would be! Paul the Apostle writes, “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (II Timothy 4:8).
Complete your run successfully. One day, when you enter the Nation of brightness, God will appreciate you by tapping at your back in the presence of thousands of angels and say, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.” When you imagine the appreciation of Christ and the gifts He will give to you, you will realize that all the sufferings you experienced on earth for the sake of God will look very simple and ordinary.
To meditate: “…he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward” (Proverbs 11:18). “…each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour” (I Corinthians 3:8).
