JULY 15 – WE WILL SEE OURSELVES!
“I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up” (Isaiah 6:1).
You have to see God. You have to see His image. You have to feel His greatness and glory. When you see God, you will see yourself too.
To see yourself, it is necessary that you have to see God. Isaiah saw God. By that, he saw himself. He realized the pathetic condition, he was in. He realized that he was a man of unclean lips and was dwelling amid people of unclean lips.
When you stand before God, your conscience will surely make you realize your sins. All your dissimulations, disgusting aspects and other shortfalls of your life could be openly revealed. So, when you stand before the presence of God every day, it will help you to evaluate yourself and to get rid of all the shortfalls in you.
When you come to know your true condition, seek pardon from God with tears and rectify yourself. Then, God will use you mightily.
The Scripture says, “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isaiah 57:15).
When you meet God, let Him see your broken and contrite heart. Let Him see how greatly you desire to live holy. Let Him see your prayer with tears.
David says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise” (Psalm 51:17). He will never ignore your cry with tears.
The specks of dust floating in a room cannot be seen with bare eyes. But thousands of dust particles can be seen floating when sunrays enter the room passing through a hole in the thatched roof. In the same way, you may not be able to notice the iniquities within you.
When you sit in the presence of God, the light of the Holy Spirit falls on you and He will make you realise all the mistakes and shortfalls you have within you. At that stage, the presence of God will help you to confess your shortfalls with tears and get rid of them.
To meditate: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties” (Psalm 139:23).
