Dec 21 – AWAKE, AWAKE DEBORAH !

“Awake, awake, Deborah!  Awake, awake, sing a song!  Arise, Barak, and lead your captives away, O son of Abinoam!” (Judges 5:12).

The children of God should be awake; sing to the Lord; and praise Him.  Then the mighty Lord, will fight with those who rise up against you.  He will capture those who held you in bondage.  Such a miracles happened in the days of Judge Deborah.

In the New Testament, Paul and Silas who were thrown into prison, were awake; they prayed; and sang praises to the Lord.  Others in the prison were also listening to their songs of praise.  Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Yes, when you praise and worship the Lord, the One dwelling among praises shall certainly comes down in your midst.

King David, continually praised the Lord, and is called the ‘Psalmist’.  Early in the morning, he will play lute and harp and praised the Lord.  “Awake, lute and harp!  I will awaken the dawn.  I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to You among the nations” (Psalm 108:2-3)

It is such a wonderful experience to get up early in the morning and to praise the Lord.  The Lord says, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me” (Proverbs 8:17).

There are many who desire to pull up their blanket and sleep tight in the early hours.  But the Scripture says, “Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread” (Proverbs 20:13).  “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors” (Proverbs 8:34)

All the saints of God sought the face of the Lord, early in the morning.  They played music instruments; sang praises; and glorified the name of the Lord.  And the Lord came down and granted them the power and grace required for that day.

The Mannah poured down from heavens for the Israelites, around their camps; early in the morning.  But those who were uncaring and slept on, will lose their mannah; as it will melt away in the sun

Children of God, make early morning prayer, as your habit.  It will bring in the presence of God and the power of God for the whole day.  It will strengthen you, and help you claim victory in the new day.

Verse for further meditation: “Awake, lute and harp!  I will awaken the dawn” (Psalm 108:2).
