Dec 05 – WAIT FOR THE GUIDANCE !

“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.” (Exodus 13:21)

When the people of Israel set out for Canaan, a pillar of cloud rested on the Tabernacle, to lead the people.  The people of Israel will not depart from their camp, until the pillar of cloud rises and moves forward (Numbers 9:14-23).  And as soon as it rises, the Israelites will blow their trumpets and go out tribe by tribe.  What a wonderful leading !

In the New Testament, God has given us the Holy Spirit to His children, to guide them, in place of pillar of cloud.  The Scripture says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)

There are many who try to take their own decisions without waiting in God’s presence to seek His will.  This is so dangerous.  There are some others, who take decisions based on their fleshly thoughts, and as led by satan.  The Scripture clearly warns: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)

Look at Samuel’s words, as he anointed Saul as king.  He said, “Surely I will come down to you… Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do.” (1 Samuel 10:8).  And when Saul waited, the Lord gave His counsel to him.

But in the later days, Saul did not wait on the Lord for His counsel, but rather went to a medium – a spiritist, so the Lord delivered Saul and his family into the hands of the Philistines.

A minister of God, while conducting evangelistic meetings, prayed for two fatted calves for the last day’s feast. The days were drawing to a close. But there was no sight of any fatted calf.  At that time, one of the Elders in the Church suggested that they should buy two calves from the market, as the matter is much delayed.  The minister of God also agreed.  The meeting ended well with a feast.

But there was no peace in the heart of that Pastor.  In a vision that he had that night, he saw a huge python lying there after devouring two fat calves.  What is the meaning of that vision?  The Lord clarified and said: My Son, I sent you those two calves.  But because you did not wait patiently, satan swallowed it”.

Children of God, wait for the Lord to open the way for you. Surely the Lord will guide you.

Verse for further meditation: “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14)
