Apr 18 – I Will Uphold You!
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
The Lord is the One who upholds us. He holds our hand and leads us forward. As He upholds us, He stretches out His righteous right hand toward us and lovingly guides us.
Throughout the past years, He has held our hands and led us. Who can snatch us away from His hand? Who can cause us to slip away from His grasp? When He holds our hand, comfort and encouragement fill our hearts, and joy fills our souls.
King David, speaking from his own experience, wrote: “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:3)
Meditate on the truth that the Lord’s right hand is holding you. He promises: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
Here the Lord does not simply say “hand,” but “right hand.” The right hand is special and powerful compared to the left. During a marriage ceremony, the bride’s right hand is placed into the bridegroom’s right hand. The Lord is the Bridegroom of our souls, and He holds us with His right hand.
When Jesus Christ rose again and ascended into heaven, He did not sit at the left hand of the Father but at the right hand. Likewise, when we overcome and enter the heavenly kingdom, we too will sit with Christ in glory.
The Lord says: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” (Revelation 3:21)
The Lord’s hand is a strong hand. It is the hand that will lift you up in His time. Therefore, always remain under His mighty hand. Let us rest within those powerful hands that protect us every day and in every circumstance. Then no evil will come near us.
The Lord says again: “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Children of God, whenever we cry out to Him in times of trouble, has He not stretched out His hand and lifted us up again?
Verse for further meditation: “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.” (Isaiah 49:16)
