Apr 09 – The Windows of Heaven!
“ ‘…If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it’ ” (Malachi 3:10).
In the Bible, we read of several occasions when heaven was opened. The first time it happened was in the days of Noah. The windows of heaven were opened (Genesis 7:11). Rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights. If it were not for the rains, the ark could not have been lifted higher. For the ark to rise above the hills and mountains, a great downpour was necessary.
In the same way, for the Church—the ark of God—to be lifted up to heaven at the coming of Christ, the great rain of the anointing is necessary. The windows of heaven must be opened, and the Holy Spirit will descend like that rain.
As the last days draw nearer, the anointing is increasing more and more. It will multiply many thousands of times. Suddenly, just as the windows of heaven once opened, God’s immeasurable anointing will be poured out powerfully across the land. After this outpouring, the children of the Lord will be taken up at His coming.
In the dream that Pharaoh saw, there were two parts. One part represented seven years of abundance. The Lord compared these years to the seven healthy ears of grain and the seven well-fed cows. After those years, seven years of severe famine would follow, and the abundance of the land would be forgotten. These seven years point prophetically to the reign of the Antichrist.
During those days, there will be a terrible famine—not merely for food, but a famine for hearing the Word of God. Yet before the reign of the Antichrist, the Lord will command a season of rain over the land—days of spiritual prosperity and renewal. When this rain of anointing falls, abundant spiritual blessings will descend upon the earth.
While the world waits for the coming of the Antichrist, we eagerly wait for the increasing rain of the anointing. Times of refreshing will surely come from the presence of the Lord.
Some translations refer to these times of refreshing as times of revival. The windows of heaven are about to open. The great rain of the anointing will be poured out. The Lord will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. No one will be able to stop this outpouring.
Children of God, receive this blessing today. Eagerly long for the great revival. This anointing will prepare you for the coming of the Lord.
Verse for further meditation: “If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth…” (Ecclesiastes 11:3).
