Apr 06 – A Fragrant Rose!
“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys” (Song of Solomon 2:1).
A rose does not need to go searching for bees or butterflies. Because it possesses beauty, nectar, and fragrance, the bees and insects naturally come seeking it. In the same way, if we are filled with divine love, we do not have to go searching for souls; God Himself will send souls to seek us.
A rose exists only for a short time. Likewise, Jesus Christ lived on this earth for only a brief period. After receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit, He ministered for about three and a half years. Yet how fruitful that ministry was! Even though nearly two thousand years have passed since He ascended to heaven, His teachings continue to spread throughout the world like a sweet fragrance.
What matters is not how many years we live, but how we live. Our life on earth passes quickly. Yet during this short time we must love the Lord, show our devotion to Him, and serve Him faithfully.
Yes, throughout our lifetime we should reflect Christ and become a fragrant aroma for Him. Therefore, surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone can fill your heart and your home with true fullness.
A life that gives off a sweet fragrance is a victorious and holy life. We should always desire purity in our lives, free from stain or blemish. The Bible says: “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 3:3).
The apostle Paul declared, “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” He also said: “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 2:14–15).
Children of God, do not be troubled by the thorns that pierce you. Instead, decide to spread your fragrance for the Lord. Even Apostle Paul had a thorn that troubled him continually. He pleaded many times for it to be removed. But what was the Lord’s answer? “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
What a comforting promise!
Verse for further meditation: “Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters” (Song of Solomon 2:2).
