Mar 18 – He Loved Us !

“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 1:5–6).

Meditate on the love of Christ who loved you.

Even before the foundation of the world, He loved you. Before you came to know Him, He knew you. While you were still in your mother’s womb, He began to love you. He called you by name.

Even when you wandered far away from Him, He followed you with sorrow and longing. When you ignored Him and neglected Him, He still watched over you with tear-filled eyes.

Not only that—He lifted you out of the miry clay of sin. He brought you to Calvary’s Cross, poured out His spotless and precious blood, washed away your sins, cleansed your iniquities, and made you kings and priests before God the Father. What grace! What compassion!

I know a brother who worked as the captain of a ship. He lived in worldly pleasures and sinful ways. Though he did not think of the Lord, the Lord performed many miracles for him and protected him from numerous dangers. Once, the cargo ship he was navigating collided with another vessel and caught fire. The danger was severe—but the Lord graciously saved him. Yet he did not pause to consider the love of God.

Later, he faced a situation where he was about to suffer a huge financial loss of several lakh of rupees. At that time, a simple servant of God, who was not formally educated, came to him and said, “Sir, while I was praying for you today, the Lord told me, ‘This time also I will show him mercy. This time also I will deliver him from this trouble.’”

When the captain heard this, he broke down in tears. The love of the Lord melted his heart. In a wonderful manner, the loss that he was about to suffer, did not happen. The Lord opened a miraculous way. That was the day he truly tasted the goodness of the Lord.

Love longs for love in return. The depth of God’s love yearns for a response from the human heart.

The One who performed countless miracles in Peter’s life asked him tenderly: “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” (John 21:15).

Dear child of God, today the Lord asks you the same question. Do you love Him? Do you love Him with all your heart, with all your strength, and with all your soul?

Verse for further meditation: “And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma” (Ephesians 5:2).
