Feb 26 – He Will Be Like David!
“In that day he who is feeble among them shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them.” (Zechariah 12:8)
The Lord loved David exceedingly because David made it the purpose of his life to praise the Lord. God found him to be a man after His own heart. Not only that, the Lord bestowed upon him abundant anointing and gave him prophetic psalms filled with divine revelation.
David was anointed before his enemies. He was anointed before his brothers. He was also anointed before the entire congregation of Israel. The Lord gave David the power to subdue his enemies and placed them under his feet.
Whether it was the battle against Goliath or the hundreds of battles that followed, the Lord blessed David by granting him victory after victory.
Beloved children of God, have you passed through a path of many defeats? Are you standing today weakened, shaken, and having lost your joy? Do not be discouraged! Lord Jesus, the Son of David, is a complete and perfect Victor.
If you will yield yourself to praise the Lord like David, the Lord will establish your dwelling place. He will strengthen your feeble knees. Then you will be able to say joyfully along with the apostle Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Let your dwelling place be like the tabernacle of David. Then the presence of God will abide there. The glory of God will rest there. There will be joyful songs and dancing. For those who love the Lord, He will work all things together for good. You will become strong.
Once again, read the promise the Lord gave through the prophet Zechariah: “In that day he who is feeble among them shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them.” (Zechariah 12:8)
Concerning the saints of the Old Testament, we read: “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” (Hebrews 11:33–34)
Beloved children of God, may you also grow strong as you praise the Lord again and again.
Verse for further meditation: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
