Jan 12 – A Blessed Privilege!
“After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years. So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.” (Genesis 9:28–29)
Look at Noah. He lived 950 years on this earth! Throughout those long centuries, the Lord preserved him with good health, strength, and soundness of body. There were no hospitals, no doctors in those early generations—yet the Lord Himself was Noah’s Great Physician.
The same God who showed grace to Noah will surely grant you good health, strength, and blessed long life. The Lord says: “For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.” (Proverbs 9:11). Therefore, live for Him; live for the glory of His Name.
David declared: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:17)
Your life is precious to God. You are more precious than the birds of the air, more beautiful than the wildflowers of the field. He created you in His own image and likeness, redeemed you through the blood of Christ, and placed you in the land of the living with a divine purpose.
Only while living on earth do you have the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel. Scripture says: “The dead do not praise the Lord, nor any who go down into silence.” (Psalm 115:17)
The Lord sought you, lifted you from the miry clay, washed you with Calvary’s blood, made you His own child, and anointed you as a king and priest unto Him. This is His grace toward you!
So do not speak defeat or discouragement. No matter what challenge you face, do not allow hopeless words to proceed from your lips. God has made you a promise: “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” (Psalm 91:15–16)
Life and death are in the power of the tongue: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21)
The Lord says again: “My son, do not forget my law… for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.” (Proverbs 3:1–2)
Children of God, live fully and fruitfully. As long as the Lord chooses to keep you on this earth, live fully—according to His will, for His pleasure, and for His ministry. May your life be like an eagle renewed in strength!
Verse for further meditation: “The Lord redeems your life from destruction, He crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, He satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:4–5)
