Dec 20 – SERVE THE LORD !
“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour.” (John 12:26)
What is God’s purpose for your life? The Lord wants you to serve Him. There is no other blessed privilege than to serve the Lord.
Billy Graham, a world-renowned servant of God, said: “Even if I am offered the presidency of the United States, I would not accept it; I would rather want to be called as the “Servant of the Supreme God”.
Servants of God are needed to establish God’s kingdom on earth. Servants are needed to resist satan and deliver people his clutches and gain them for the kingdom of God. God needs His servants to do good to the people in His name; to win over souls and lead them in the heavenly path.
In the Old Testament era, He separated the Levites for the priestly ministry. He anointed some for prophetic ministry; and some others for He anointed as kings.
In the New Testament era, we see five types of ministries: Apostle, Evangelist, Pastor, Shepherd, and Prophets. The servants of God, preach about His love and lead them to salvation. On the other hand, they are perfecting the church and preparing the people for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The Lord says, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.’ Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him” (Malachi 3:17-18)
The presence of God will always be with His servants. He will never leave them nor forsake them. The Lord will confirm His word and perform mighty miracles, signs and wonders through them. The Lord says, “In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.” (Exodus 20:24)
The Lord also makes His ministers a flame of fire (Hebrews 1:7). He makes them as flame of fire, which will consume and destroy sinfulness, to triumph over temptations and to be victorious. So, children of God, commit yourselves to serve the Lord.
Verse for further meditation: “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7)
