Jul 11 – SPIRIT WITHIN US !

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them” Ezekiel 36:27).

Christ dwells in us as the hope of glory. The Holy Spirit also dwells within us. It is so amazing to know that even in the Old Testament era, God promised to grant His Spirit to dwell within us.

Jesus Christ came into this world to give what the Father promised. Yes, the Father first promised us the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Then he promised us the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.

So when Jesus Christ came to this earth, He said, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

The disciples believed in the Lord’s promise and were waiting and praying in the upper room in Jerusalem. And the Holy Spirit came and descended upon each of them; and dwelt within each of them.

How true are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said, “The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17).

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we can clearly feel the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Because He is in us, He instructs and sensitises us about sin, righteousness and judgment. As the Spirit brings to light even the small sins, the conscience continues to be very sharp. It will wrench our hearts and make us conscious about grieving the Holy Spirit, even when we give little room to sin in our heart.

With the indwelling Spirit of the Lord, we also get deep revelation when we read the word of God. We can pray with the spirit of petition. His power can be felt while preaching. The One who is within us is great; and He transforms our bodies into the temple of His glory.

The Scripture says, “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19). “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Children of God, Lord Jesus Christ dwells in you; the Holy Spirit also dwells within you. So, you are doubly blessed.

Verse for further meditation: “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things” (1 John 2:27).
