Nov 27 – ANKLE-DEEP EXPERIENCE !

“He brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles” (Ezekiel 47:3).

Ezekiel 47 is a chapter that reveals deep spiritual secrets. In this chapter, you will find the Holy Spirit being likened to a river, and the progressive and deeper spiritual experiences of the children of God.

The first experience that the Holy Spirit grants, is ankle-deep experience. Imagine that a man is walking down the road under a hot sun; suddenly spotting a river. He will immediately run to the river and place his feet in the waters. The moment he does that, all the heat dissipates and he is refreshed with the cold water of the river. All the pain in his feet is gone and he is comforted. That water also brings a great joy and gladness in his heart.

I know of a believer. There was a beautiful riverhead closer to his workplace. He will go off to that river at four o’ clock in the morning, to take a bath. In the winter time, the waters will be too cold to bear. But he used to go ahead and get into the water. He said he is prompted to speak in tongues, the moment he places his feet in that ice-cold water.

Your heart rejoices when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. All the worldly troubles, weariness and sorrows are removed in an instant and you start rejoicing in the Lord. Ankle-deep experience is gladness of heart through the Holy Spirit.

Kids go to the beach with their parents for a walk. Once they get close to the sea, the desire of any kid is to run toward the sea and stand in the waves. They run to the shore when the wave comes out, and once the wave goes in, they will go back and stand at ankle-deep waters. This gives great happiness to them; their parents are also happy to see this.

When you receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the love of God is poured into your hearts (Romans 5:5). And you are filled with great joy. That heavenly river completely fills you with the heavenly joy. Children of God, long for a deep spiritual experience. Establish a deep and personal fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Verse for further meditation: “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive” (John 7:38-39).
