Nov 26 – GOD IS IN THE MIDST !

“There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her” (Psalm 46:4-5).
God is always in your midst. What a great comfort and strength to have God in your midst! Since God is in your midst, you shall never be moved. No one in this world and no government can shake you.
In the verse of the day, there is a mention of ‘City of God’, ‘Holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High’. Where is this city? Or who is this city? Prophet Isaiah says; “Also the sons of those who afflicted you shall come bowing to you, and all those who despised you shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you The City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel” (Isaiah 60:14).
Children of God, you are that city of God. And God dwells in your midst; and the Spirit of God resides within you. The Scripture says; “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16).
Once a believer was admitted in the hospital and his physical condition was worsening by the day. In spite of much medication, there was no improvement in his condition. Even the doctors had given up hope of his recovery. However, at his deathbed; he suddenly remembered the promise of God. He realized that he was the city of God and that God Himself dwells in him.
Not only that. He read Zephaniah 3:17, which says; “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing”. When he meditated this verse, he was filled with faith that God indeed is in his midst. He realized that God dwelt even in the midst of his deteriorating body. The moment he had that faith, he started worshipping God and thanking Him for being in his midst.
From that moment; great changes began to happen in his physical condition. Great changes to the extent there was no trace of his disease and ill-health. God granted him a complete health and healing. Children of God, the Lord is in your midst. He is there with you in your house, in your office and in all the places you go.
Verse for further meditation: “Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame” (Joel 2:27).
