Aug 01 – TO KEEP !

“Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it” (Genesis 2:15).

God created man in His image and likeness and gave him dominion and authority over all the earth. And God put him in the garden of Eden, to tend and to keep it.

You also should preserve the precious redemption by the Lord and the holy anointing. You should lead life to be worthy of His calling and purpose for you. It is very important to keep and preserve the dominion and authority entrusted to us.

But the first man, Adam, did not keep his calling, and allowed Satan to deceive him. He chose to eat of the fruit that God had forbidden and to heeded to the serpent, and sold out His dominion to Satan, who was against God. Thus, he fell into sin and bondage, curse and death. Diseases and illnesses caught hold of him, and his whole life was ruined. Sin ruined life of man, in three ways. Firstly, the bodily decay. Secondly, the staining of the soul and thirdly, loss of fellowship between man’s spirit with the Lord. Above all, he lost his dominion and authority, and was caught in the trap and snare of Satan, to be tormented.

Adam was originally created to rule and was crowned with glory and honour. But when he fell into sin, he became a curse. And because of Adam, the whole world went into bondage of sin.

The Scripture says: “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). But God did not want to abandon man in that state. He was determined to lift him from that fallen state and promised to send in the Lord, to crush the head of Satan and to redeem man.

Father God said to Satan: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel” (Genesis 3:15). God still loved the fallen man and willed to send His only begotten Son, to purchase our redemption. Lord Jesus chose to offer His own life to redeem all that was lost by man in the garden of Eden.

Children of God, the dominion and authority given to you by the Lord, are so very precious and excellent. And be very careful to keep and preserve them.

Verse for further meditation: “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:13).
