May 31 – INTELLIGENCE BY THE WORD OF GOD !

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8).

The secret of great intellect lies in leading life according to the word of God.  The whole Scripture was not available in the days of Joshua, but he had the Book of the Law, commanded by Moses.  The Lord said to Joshua: “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (Joshua 1:7).

Joshua was afraid about the new position of leadership and responsibility placed on him.  He was worried as to how he will conquer the seven nations and the thirty-one kings of Canaan.  The only way is to meditate on the law of the Lord.  The Scripture tells us:

Blessed is the man whose  delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law, he meditates day and night.  And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:2-3).

The King of Israel should be well-versed in the law of the Lord, to have best war strategies and to win the battles.  “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.  (Zechariah 4:6).  For nothing restrains the Lord to save and to grant victory by many or by few.  “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord. (Proverbs 21:31).

Even today you are engaged in a battle – a battle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12).  You should do this battle, by reading the words of God, meditating on them and by prayer.  And when you do that, you will indeed be victorious in all your battles.

Abraham Lincoln, the first President of the United States of America, obtained great wisdom and understanding by being godly and by devoting considerable time in the word of God, and was triumphant in all his battles.  Similarly, President Eisenhower, used to take all major decisions for the country, only after praying about them.  Since he had set the Holy Bible in front of him, the whole nation was prosperous during his presidentship.

Daniel obtained his wisdom and knowledge, revelations and interpretations from God (Daniel 2:30).  Children of God, whatever may be the decisions that you need to take either in the family or at the work-front, it is very important for you to have the God-given wisdom, intelligence and understanding.

Verse for further meditation: “Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Mathew 7:24).
