Mar 25 – HE GRANTS VICTORY OVER DISEASE !
“For I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26).
The Lord wants you to have victory over your diseases. Since it is the Lord who created your body, and because He has already borne our sickness and infirmities on the Cross, you no longer need to struggle in your disease.
When you pray, you make a statement: “Let Your will be done, as it is in heaven”. There is no disease or sickness in heaven. The angels of God never get sick. Our Lord always had victory over disease in the days when He walked on earth.
None of His ministries, whether it is the ministry of proclaiming Gospel, ministry of Prayer, or ministry of Fasting, was ever stopped due to His sickness or weakness. It is because no disease could take hold of Him. Even when He laid His hands on a leper, the leprosy could not take hold of him. It is again only because He has already borne our sickness and infirmities on the Cross, that He said “I was sick and you visited Me”. He willed in his heart to bear the infirmities of all His children upon Himself.
May be you have a question in your mind, as to why the children of God should fall into sickness? The primary reason for sickness, is sin. When a paralytic was brought unto Him, even before healing him, Jesus said to him: “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you” (Mathew 9:2). In a similar manner, when he healed the man who had infirmity for thirty-eight years by the pool of Bethesda, He said unto him: “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you”. (John 5:14).
Children of God, when you keep sins at bay, diseases will not be able to touch you. Sometimes, children get into sickness due to the sins and curses of their parents and forefathers. Many do not believe this. But we read in the Scripture that because of the sin of David, the Lord struck his child and he became ill. (2 Samuel 12:14-15).
Therefore, in such situations, we need to examine ourselves, whether we have been the cause for others to be afflicted by sickness, confess our sins and get rid of them. The Scripture says: “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed” (James 5:16).
Verse for further meditation: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17).
