Feb 24 – FAITH !

“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4: 13).

We can read about four types of faith in the Scripture. First, is the inherent or natural faith. Secondly, it is faith, as an elementary principle or teaching. This is also called as the faith toward God. Thirdly, we have faith, as a gift of the Spirit. And fourthly, we read about faith, as a fruit of the Spirit.

Faith is indispensable for each one of you. You should abound in that faith. You should be filled with the Spirit and produce the spiritual fruit of faith. Even the disciples of Jesus realized the need for faith and prayed to the Lord to increase their faith (Luke 17: 5).

Lord Jesus decided to create faith in the life of Martha and Mary – who were grieving after the death of their brother, without any faith or hope. The Lord said to them: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (John 11: 25). Even after He said this, they could not have faith. They said to Jesus: “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died” . They also said: “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Thus, they only uttered words of unfaith. In order to teach them faith, the Lord raised Lazarus back from the dead.

It increases our faith, as we read of the various miracles performed by the Lord. When we read testimonies of the mighty act of God, our faith is set on fire. The Scripture says that Stephen was full of faith and the Holy Spirit. That is why he could perform great wonders and signs among the people.

When faith enters into you, as a gift of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to plan great and wonderful things for God. Such faith helps you in establishing a big church for the Lord, to gain millions of souls for the Lord, or to perform wonders and signs among the people. The one who fully accepts and believes in the word of the Lord, confesses and proclaims the same with his mouth.

Children of God, let your faith be strong and be founded on the word of God. And may your faith be always anchored on Christ.

Verse for further meditation: “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11: 11).
