Feb 22 – BREAD !

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever” (John 6: 51).

When God created man and placed him in the garden of Eden, He gladly gave him the fruit from the tree of life, as food to sustain him and to grant fullness of life.

God who gave Adam the fruit from the tree of life, also gave Mannah – the food from heaven, to the Israelites. And to us, He has given the living bread. When we pray the Lord for our daily bread, He grants to us the fatness and richness of His word. He also bestows you with power, strength and might in your soul.

You may come across many believers, who lack in strength and falter, because they fail to eat of this living bread. They become weary in their souls, even for minor issues. They frequently trip and fall in their ways. They neither partake in the living bread nor do they claim and inherit the promises of God, nor speak words of faith with confidence.

God always grants the best to His children. His words should continue to be your food for entire life. A Bible scholar said like this: ‘for the last sixty-nine years, I have read the word of God, meditated on them and tasted them. But even today, when I sit at the foot of the Lord and take up my Bible, I still feel like a student. I read the word of God, like a man reading a text book with a deep hunger for learning”.

The Scripture says: “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me” (John 5: 39). God has given you Holy Bible, like a whole library in your hands. In Bible, the Lord has given a collection of books in history, law, science, mathematics, counsel, psalms and so many other types of books.

The Scripture says: “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84: 10). Children of God, may the word of God, be the food of your life – the best food that you could ever have.

Verse for further meditation: “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price” (Isaiah 55: 1)
