Feb 21 – FELLOWSHIP !

“and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1: 3).

It is a great privilege that the Lord has promised to have fellowship with you. Your soul and your spirit are combined with Him. He resides in you. And you have a continuous communion and fellowship with Him.

There was an old lady who was living all by herself, in her house. Since all her children were living abroad, she went through a sense of loneliness. Instead of seeking refuge in the word of God, prayers and in songs of praise, she started spending her time, watching some bad content on the television. She was convinced that this could help overcome her loneliness.

One day, in the television, she came across a murder scene – where an innocent man was surrounded by brutal men and stabbing him to death, without any sympathy. That scene really shook her heart, and completely destroyed her peace of mind.

Where do you have your communion and fellowship? What is the nature of things that you see and the words that you speak and hear? Just think about it. Good parents will always want their children to have friendship with good fellows. They even go to the extent of handpicking good friends for their children. And if they come across evil persons, they will advise their children to stay away from them. They know for sure, that only through good friends will their children be able to have a blessed future.

Our good friend – Lord Jesus Christ, always wants to have a fellowship with you. He endearingly calls you as a ‘friend’. Whenever you read the word of God, you have fellowship with the Lord. Whenever you kneel down, look upon His golden face and pray to Him, your spirit will have communion with Him. Because, the Lord is not distant from any one, who seeks Him.

When God created man, He wanted to have fellowship with him. He came down in search in the cool of the day. Even when man lost his fellowship with God because of sins, God did not forsake him. He manifested Himself as Jesus, in the form of man, to restore the fellowship that was lost. Children of God, always abide in the fellowship with the Lord.

Verse for further meditation: “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (1 John 1: 6)
