Oct 18 -LIFE AND ABUNDANCE!

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
Today, two big powers act against each other. One is the divine power and the other is the power of satan. The Scripture says that satan is a thief. Jesus Christ said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10).
Several years ago, a pastor was doing ministry powerfully in Australia. At that time, a terrible pestilence broke out in his town and killed many people. No proper medicine was available for that disease and the doctors were helpless.
Forty people belonging to the church of this pastor died due to this infectious disease. The heart of the pastor stumbled at this. He cried out to God, “God, are you going to kill all the believers of my church with this disease? Why are you doing this?”
The Holy Spirit told him, ‘Jesus Christ went about doing good things. He healed the sick and delivered those chained by satan’ (Acts 10:38). He also pointed out the verse ‘He came that people may have life and they may have it more abundantly’ to him.
The pastor’s eyes got opened when he realised that satan was the cause for the sickness and death. He became zealous in his Spirit. He stood firm and began to fight against the power of satan. He firmly caught hold of the promise that Jesus won over satan who was the Premier of death, with His death and began to fight.
As he went on praying, the impact of the disease began to decline. Though the occurrence of death due to the infection stopped, he did not stop praying. He challenged saying, “Satan, what right do you have to steal the sheep from my flock?” and brought all the believers of his church into the wall of fire of Christ. From then on, the believers also continued to pray, holding the promise of God and became victorious. The deadly pestilence came to an end.
Do not be grieve stricken while facing sickness, sorrow, poverty, debt etc. Do not blame God. Along with the promises of God, hold firmly the shield of faith, which would quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Dear Children of God, do not fear. Lord, who is magnificent is standing amidst you. He has come to bequeath you with life and make it perfect in you.
To meditate: “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence” (Psalms 91:3).
