Sep 25 – SHALL NOT STRIKE!
“The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night” (Psalms 121:6).
The tears of joy begin to pour out of our eyes as we keep meditating on the promises of God. How greatly He protects us day and night! How carefully He protects us from both hot and cold climates even without sleeping!
Today, people are worried about global warming which is worsening day after day. If destroying of plants and trees is continued anymore in the nation, there will be an increase in the smoke zone which would bring greater disasters to the world. We see diseases that are uncontrollable by medicines and for which treatment has not yet been invented, attacking mankind. God alone could protect us.
Our God is the one who created the universe. He is the one to make the stars run in their paths correctly. He is the one powerful to protect His children with love.
At the same time, those who go in the path of evil and who get diverted from the Word of God and live according to their own will and pleasure will not have any protection. The Scripture says, “And after all this if you do not obey me, …I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze” (Levi. 26:18, 19).
When Pharaoh and his army were chasing the children of Israel, God commanded pillars of cloud on the shore of the Red Sea. “So, it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus, it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other” (Exodus 14:20).
God is one to protect His children day and night as the pupil of the eye. With the intention that the children of Israel should not be affected by the hot sun, God created the pillars of cloud and made the atmosphere cool. During nights, He created the pillars of fire to protect the children of Israel from cold, frost and fog and also from the ill effects of the bad rays of the moonlight.
Dear children of God, abide yourself in the refuge of God and protect yourself.
To meditate: “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler” (Psalms 91:4).
