Sep 08 – REJOICE!

 “Rejoice always” (I Thessalonians 5:16).

Happiness is your birth right. Since you are the children of God, He has promised you happiness. This happiness is a great one; one that abides forever. This happiness is one that heaven gives you.

Man gets attracted by the false happiness of the world and resorts to alcohol, cinema, adultery etc. just as an ant hurrying towards honey. This ant falls into the honey, gets caught in the honey, and dies being unable to come out of it. The same thing happens to the man. Those are the ways of suffering and ways of death. Those are the ways leading to the hade.

But God makes you rejoice in Him. He gives you the joy of salvation and happiness. Helps you to praise God by singing and dancing. This joy is incomparable.

Every thought of our wonderful Saviour makes us happy. How good He is, how powerful He is and how mighty He is! How greatly He loved us! With what a great love He came in search of us! How compassionate He is to redeem us by sacrificing His life! David writes after meditation, “And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in His salvation” (Psalms 35:9).

You have to definitely allocate some time to rejoice in God. Create opportunities to sing His praise. If you dedicate your heart to worship Him and meditate on His glory and His greatness, your joy will be at the overflowing level. The Scripture says, “Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King” (Psalms 149:2).

Paul the Apostle says, “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). What he points out is not the outward happiness but the one in God. That is the happiness that we derive in His presence. Happiness comes by feeling His presence.

Dear children of God, let the same be the aim of your life in this world. The Ecclesiastes says, “I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives” (Ecclesiastes 3:12).

To meditate: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11).
