AUG 23 – FREEDOM FROM THE CHAINS!
“And now look, I free you this day from the chains that were on your hand” (Jeremiah 40:4).
Today, the hands of the people of God have been bound with several invisible chains. Some people are bound with a chain which is debt. Even though they wish to contribute generously to the ministries, the chain prevents them. Some people are bound with the chain of bribery. This prevents them from leading a true Christian life. Some are bound with curses and their efforts never get fulfilled. They face failure in whatever they do.
But, God gives you a promise today. God who is powerful to break the bolts of iron and gates of bronze proclaims the deliverance saying, “I free you this day from the chains that were on your hand.”
Dear children of God, you only know with which chain your hands are tied. Reveal frankly to God what it is. Fast and pray at least for a day in a week for the chain to be broken. Whatever be your chain, may it be backsliding or weakness or problems, God is powerful to break all those chains.
Satan has kept many people tied. Many people are unable to do ministry or live holy because of this. They are unable to give to God though they wish to.
Jesus said, “So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” (Luke 13:16). Indeed she is the daughter of Abraham, a chosen descendent, a good believer and one who inherited the promises but she gave room to satan to bind her. Jesus Christ broke her chains and she was delivered. The Scripture says, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).
One who is powerful to deliver you stays near you. Today, look up to Him and begin praying to Him. Pray saying, “Lord, deliver me from my sickness, my irritation, my bitterness, my backsliding and the present situation wherein I am unable to pray.” He will surely deliver you. Jesus Christ has said, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me” (Psalm 50:15). Is it not?
To meditate: “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (II Corinthians 3:17).
